The Reduced Risk of Stroke and Cancer from Caffeine For Women

What do you drink in the morning?  Most of us would say we have at least one cup of coffee.  Did you know there are benefits to your morning cup?  It seems that there is a health benefit to your morning energy boost. The effects of caffeine can be not only an energy boost, but a health boost as well.  There has been studies recently that suggest that a person who drinks coffee three to five times a day can actually reduce the risk of Parkinson’s disease, type 2 diabetes, liver disease, gout, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.  A dose of caffeine taken in the morning, both by powder or beverage, can also improve memory retention, and also increase your attention span.

If you are happy about the possibility of the health benefits from your daily coffee intake, there is a negative consequence as well.  It has been shown that there is a risk of high cholesterol that can come from the natural elements of the coffee bean.  The chemicals cafestol and kahweol which come from the coffee bean are the cause of cholesterol.  They have been shown to cause a higher risk of heart disease due to the increase of cholesterol in the blood.  However, if you use a caffeine powder, this can take the cholesterol increase off the table.  There is no coffee bean in caffeine powder.  Another great thing about caffeine powder is it can be added to any type of beverage or food that you prefer.

There has been a recent benefit to caffeine that was done by a study in Sweden.  It has been found that strokes in middle-aged women and older have been reduced.  The researchers were studying the effects of caffeine on humans and the health benefits related to consumption.  The study found that women who consumed more than one cup of coffee per day were less likely to have a stroke then compared to those who don’t drink coffee.

The study was done on 35,000 women from the age of 49 to 83 years old.  It was over a 10 year time period.  The study discovered that women who drink coffee on a daily basis, had up to a 25 percent lower risk of stroke when compared to women who did not drink coffee daily.

The results of the study are still being examined, however, most believe that the reduction of strokes in women come from the effects of caffeine and coffee.  This was due to the reduction of inflammation and also an increase of receptiveness to insulin.

The health benefits of caffeine are shown to be viable, however, moderation is the key.  The addiction to caffeine and coffee can be a potential health issue.  The coffee bean itself can cause health problems as well.  However, with moderation, the health benefits outweigh the negative. So, enjoy your morning coffee, it may be helping you.
